Four Awesome Marvel Comics that Everyone Should Read

There are tons of great Marvel Comics that you should check out, but below I will list my top 4 that I think every Marvel fan should read. They’re accessible to anyone and they don’t require extensive knowledge of the Marvel Universe to enjoy them.

Marvels

This comic book is a take on the Marvel Universe through the eyes of a photographer for the Daily Bugle, a fictions magazine based in the Marvel Universe. It isn’t like anything else and the premise is pretty simple – what would it be like to live life as an ordinary citizen in the Marvel Universe. It’s a great storyline created by Kurt Busiek, which spans several decades of comic book history. Phil Sheldon, the protagonist, takes shots of some of the biggest moments in Marvel history, including the arrival of Galactus as well as the death of Gwen Stacy. It’s a great storyline for anyone and die-hard fans and just regular readers alike will enjoy it.

Inhumans

The Inhumans was not a very popular comic at the time of it’s release, but it is a great story that deserves to be read. Alongside the artist of the comic, Jae Lee, the author, Paul Jenkins created an awesome tale that touched on subjects such as genetic diversity, adolescence, and metamorphosis. The villain in the story has to be one of the most amazing villains I’v ever come across in Marvel Comics. It’s definitely worth a read if you enjoy a good villain.

The Sentry TPB

Daredvil

Another awesome comic book is The Sentry TPB, who is the Marvel Universe’s equivalent of the famous DC character, Superman. There’s not much to say other than that this is one of the most awesome comic books of all time. The trials and tribulations that this character goes through teaches us some very important lessons and makes us love him even that much more. If you enjoy any of the Marvel Comics, you will definitely enjoy this one.

DareDevil
Well that’s it, those are 4 of the most awesome comics in the Marvel Universe. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!The last comic we will look at is DareDevil. Don’t be put off by the film created because it didn’t really do the comic justice. It’s a series of over a dozen paperback books created by Kevin Smith, Brian Michael Bendis, and Ed Brubaker who lead the blind attorney turned superhero, Matt Murdock, down a dark and twisting path that many comic book characters haven’t experienced before. Through all this, DareDevil evolves and creates lasting relationships with the fans that experience the trouble that he went through. Another truly awesome comic that everyone should read at least once.

A Look Back at the Beginning of Marvel Comics

There is a lot to love about Marvel Comics, but what is it exactly that we just can’t get enough of? I think it’s probably the heart that goes into creating the characters. They feel like real people that we are connected to. They inspire us to be real life heroes and change the world to the best of our abilities. Marvel Comics has created more than just picture books, they have created characters that feel real and inspirational to us and I think that’s why they are so important and influential to us.

Marvel Comics began in 1939, founded by Martin Goodman. At the time, graphic novels were becoming very popular so these comic books took an upward spiral and launched Marvel Comics into a profitable and very important period in the company. Goodman knew this so he hired an editor, managing editor as well as a business manager, then moved into an office in New York City.

The first publication that came out starred the Human Torch as the superhero and Namor the Sub-Mariner as the first villain. The first real hit of Marvel Comics came in 1941 when Captain America was revealed to the world. That comic book sold over 1 million copies at the time, a huge feat for any publishing company.

The majority of popular superheroes came out during the 1960s when Stan Lee took over the creative direction of Marvel Comics. You will probably recognize some of the most popular Marvel characters that came out at about that time. These include Thor, the X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and the Silver Surfer. After this period, Marvel tried to diversify their comics to account for a larger and more diverse audience, especially the more mature audience.

Recently, Marvel Comics have started making changes to keep up with current times. After 9/11 they focused on civil liberties,  where their characters were forced to register their secret identities with the government, much like the Patriot Act that was forced upon U.S. citizens.

Marvel Comics has gone on to create a massive and very loyal fan base. If you haven’t already checked out Marvel Comics, which is difficult because they have created some of the most popular characters, then you should definitely hop on the bandwagon because you are missing out.

The Marvel Universe for Beginners

Comic books is one of the most popular forms of entertainment for many people and has been for many years. Through comics, people can explore different universes with superheroes that they are inspired by and look up to. There are tons of different comic book types that are very well known, one of the most famous being Marvel Comics.

The characters introduced in the Marvel Universe are some that many of us have grown up with. We know the adventures of Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Iron Man as well as the villains, such as the Green Goblin and Magento. Depending on which side you feel more comfortable with depends on the amount of evil you have inside of you 🙂

Marvel Comic books are extremely well-known today and many of the comic books have been turned into full-length movies, such as X-Men, Spider-Man, and the Daredevil. Judging from the amount of money that these movies have raked in, it seems that comic books and superheroes are not dead. They have a unique way of reaching into our lives and inspiring us, such as Captain America!

Comic books and their characters aren’t just for young people anymore, both young and old people enjoy and are entertained by them on a daily basis. They will continue to be influential in the future just as they were in the past. They will make us laugh, cry, and enjoy every minute of our favorite comic books.

The next time you’re out buying comic books, you will most likely encounter the Marvel Comics because they are undoubtedly some of the most famous characters in the comic book industry. They may not be the same as the past because Marvel has to keep current with the times, but the charm that they bring will be equal as to the past. Comic books may look and feel different today, but they normally follow the same story-lines. You may find comic books that feature well-known characters in an original story-line, but in a different series. Sometimes Marvel likes to do that, such as the Avengers and the individual characters.

So the next time you are out buying entertainment, pick up a comic book (even if it’s on your iPad). You will enjoy every minute of the action that is revealed before your eyes.

Marvel Universe

Marvel Comics is run under the Walt Disney Company and has some of the most popular and famous characters that many people have grown up with. What’s very interesting is that most of them are very different from the others, in terms of appearance, powers, skills, likes and dislikes. There isn’t one Marvel character that is like another one, which makes it so amazing; there is literally a character for everyone and even villains at that! Whether you like the superheroes or the villains, there is someone in the Marvel Universe for you. Every character even has a different speaking style and voice, you can’t get any more unique than that!

Another amazing aspect about Marvel Comics is the universe itself! Those settings even take part in some of the major feature films based on the Marvel Comics, such as Iron Man or The Avengers.

Marvel Comics are popular for people of all ages and they will entertain you until the cows come on. Grab yourself  a Marvel Comic book and I promise you won’t regret it!

The Beginning of Marvel Comics

Marvel Comic characters are some of the most notable and recognizable fictional characters in entertainment today. Recently there has been a large surge in superhero movies and the main characters that are being chosen are Marvel characters, such as Iron Man, the Hulk, and the rest of the Avengers. Most people don’t realize it, but there is a story behind these characters, a fairly long one at that.

It’s important to note that Marvel hasn’t always been Marvel Comics; at one point the company was known as Timely Comics, which published it’s first comic in October, 1939. This issue was about a sub-mariner named Namor and a robot who was known as the Human Torch (not the human torch of the Fantastic Four). It’s pretty interesting to note that this first issue of Marvel Comics is valued at $330,000 today, WOW! If that’s not a sign that these comics are valuable and that they are important in the comic-book culture then I don’t know what is.

MarvelMystery12Martin Goodman founded the company in 1939 and in 1941, Stanley Lieber was brought on as the interim editor. Most people won’t recognize his name, but they will recognize his pseudonym, Stan Lee, a prominent force behind Marvel who has created some of the most popular Marvel characters.

After World War 2, sales declined because superheroes were going out of style and they weren’t as popular. This prompted Marvel Comics to change gears and focus on different story-lines, such as horror, romance, and comedy. This changed during the 1960s when there was a massive revival in superhero popularity, prompted by DC’s Justice League of America. Marvel Comics had it’s own version of the Justice League, which was equally as popular, known as the Fantastic Four.

After this there was a revival in Marvel Comic characters, many that you may know today, such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Daredevil, and the X-Men. There was quite a bit of competition at the time, but with those characters and more, Marvel declared itself as a company to be reckoned with and as one of the largest comic book companies in the world, which still stands true today.

What made Marvel Comics so different is that they put in a lot of time and effort in creating their characters. Many people are able to easily see flaws in comic book characters, but not in Marvel characters and this is because they were created so well and were so though out.

The process of telling stories via comic books has caused Marvel Comics to influence and revolutionize the industry and make people enjoy and believe in superheroes once again. They way Marvel Comics has done this is truly inspiring.
